Vacuum Technician - Adelanto, CA

Among the gases we supply are oxygen, nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide, helium and hydrogen. The company’s world-class engineering organization designs, engineers and constructs cryogenic and non-cryogenic supply systems around the world. Job Description: Perform leak detection and pinpoint location of minute leaks in cryogenic storage vessels and piping. Position requires self-starter working under minimal supervision. Job will require some travel to customer locations. Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Responsibilities: Obtain in-house certification as Level I, II and Level III vacuum technician, including OSHA, DOT and Manufacturer's certification exams. Proficient in running the following equipment: Certified in the operation of the Varian mass-spectrometer to manufacturer's testing and ASNT. Mass-spectrometer troubleshooting and repair. Operate vacuum pump. Operate instruments as required to take vacuum readings. Good interpersonal skills; effective team member. Good written and verbal communication. Computer literate. Up to 25% travel time may be required (Domestic). Participate in improving testing performance and increasing reliability through the use of process skills. Perform instrumentation of pressure vessels. Accurately gather and document data. Provide assistance in planning and scheduling of testing jobs. Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of operating systems. Maintain good communication and leadership skills. Interface with all levels of operations teams and customers. Requirements: 3-5 years’ experience in the following functions: Vacuum systems and leak checking. Mass-spectrometer operation. Pressure testing piping systems. Mechanical/electrical trouble shooting skills. Able to read mechanical schematics. Prior certification in Varian mass-spectrometer preferred. (All previous training and certification must be documented by presentation of original training certificates)
