Shive-Hattery Architecture-Engineering is a full service employee-owned professional design firm that provides complete in-house consulting services for governmental, industrial, private sector, and institutional clientele. Our professional service capability encompasses all phases of architecture, civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, process and environmental engineering; landscape architecture, architectural planning and design, and interior design as well as construction management, construction observation and materials quality control.

Our offices, which are located in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines and Iowa City, Iowa, Bloomington, Downers Grove and Moline, Illinois, are managed by resident technical professionals and are staffed to provide local service. Through our multi-office arrangement, we are able to serve clients on a localized basis. In addition, we have completed projects in many other states and U.S. territories in a competitive and cost-effective fashion.

Approximately one-half of our total staff of over 290 employees is made up of engineers and architects, trained and experienced in the skills and techniques of professional engineering and architecture. The remainder of our staff consists of experienced technical staff and other support personnel. Our firm is currently ranked 320 in Engineering News Record’s list of the “500 Top Design firms” in the United States.
